How much does a Carhartt pallet cost?

What a wholesale pallet of vintage Carhartt costs: per-piece pricing by grade, pallet sizes, freight and duty, and how to work out landed cost before you buy.

What is a Carhartt pallet?

A freight-sized wholesale quantity of Carhartt garments — usually 300 to 1,000 pieces — packed on a pallet and shipped by sea, truck or air freight rather than as parcels. Pallets can be single-category or mixed, graded or ungraded, hand-picked or blind.

How much do Carhartt pallets cost per piece?

Mostly it depends on grade and on whether the pallet is picked. Ungraded liquidation pallets can be very cheap per piece but include unsellable stock. Graded, picked vintage Carhartt is priced per piece: our 500-piece pallet is £14.50 per piece (£7,250) and our 1000-piece pallet is £13 per piece (£13,000), with every piece reworked, graded and photographed.

What is included in the price?

Always ask. Some quotes are goods only, with freight left to you. Ours include grading, rework, photography and packing; freight is quoted separately at cost because it depends on your port and on sea versus air. Import duty and tax are charged by your own country on arrival and are never part of any supplier's price.

How do I work out landed cost?

Goods plus freight plus insurance, then your country's import duty on that total — around 12 percent on clothing in the UK and EU — then VAT or GST on everything. A £13-per-piece pallet typically lands in Europe somewhere around £17 to £19 per piece all-in, depending on the VAT rate and freight route. Price your retail from that number, not from the supplier's quote.

How long does a pallet take?

By sea from Karachi: about two to three weeks to the Gulf and Singapore, four to six to Europe, five to seven to North America and Australia, plus customs clearance. By air: one to two weeks. Picked and reworked pallets also need production time — allow four to six weeks for 500 pieces and eight to ten for 1000.

Is a pallet the right first order?

Rarely. Start with a 20 or 50-piece bundle to test the grading, photos and how fast it sells, step up to 100, and move to a pallet once you know what moves in your market. A good supplier will always let you start small.
