Era and identification

Carhartt's cargo work pants added thigh pockets to the standard work pant. Less collected than double knees, which keeps them affordable for the same construction quality.

How it fits

Vintage duck shrinks with washing, so the measured waist often runs under the tagged size. The rise sits higher than modern equivalents and the leg is cut straight and roomy. Message us with reference PT38 for waist and inseam measured flat.

Condition — like new

Graded honestly. At $81 against an original retail of $109, that's 26% below new for fabric and construction current production no longer matches.

Care

Wash cold, inside out, hang dry. Avoid fabric softener — it breaks down the canvas weave. If a knee or seam starts to go, repair early; bar-tacked repairs hold indefinitely.
