The olive green colourway

Green colourways are the collector's alternative to brown. Moss, olive and army shades came in shorter runs, and sun exposure pushes them toward a dusty, faded tone that can't be reproduced.

Era and identification

Plain canvas work shorts are the simplest build in the range: deep pockets, reinforced seams, knee-length cut. The most wearable entry point into vintage Carhartt bottoms.

Condition — like new

Graded like new: clean throughout, structurally sound, no notable flaws. What patina there is came from light wear and washing rather than work. If you want vintage fabric weight without the marks, this is the grade to buy. Priced at $45 against an original retail of $69 — 35% below new, for fabric weight and construction current production no longer matches.

How it fits and how to wear it

Cut long and roomy through the leg, sitting at or below the knee on most wearers. Waist measurements often come in under the tagged size after decades of washing. Summer wear that holds structure. Unlike lightweight shorts, canvas keeps its shape through the day, and the longer cut means the proportions work without cuffing or altering. Care

Wash cold and hang dry. If you have a raw hem it will fray about a centimetre then stabilise — that's normal and stops on its own.
